Painting & Drawing in Wordsworth’s Garden
21st-22nd April 2019
Rydal Mount, The Lake District
Rydal Mount …
… was the home of William Wordsworth, the poet, from 1813 until his death in 1850.
Wordsworth was also a keen gardener, and Rydal Mount’s 4 acres of gardens are close to how he designed them.
He was driven by a desire to let nature lead the way and his design ethos could be summed up by his sentiment: “defend us from the tyranny of trimness and neatness”.
The garden is full of different levels, views, shapes, colours and textures.
Tyga Helme and Beatrice Hasell-McCosh will led you in an exploration of landscape drawing and painting in this very special location.
